QUEEN MARY 2 VISITS COBH

CUNARD'S QUEEN MARY 2 PAYS ANOTHER VISIT TO THE HARBOUR TOWN OF COBH TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER 2011.
RMS Queen Mary 2 is a trans atlantic ocean liner. At the time of her construction in 2003, Queen Mary 2 was the longest, tallest, widest passenger ship ever built and still remains the largest ocean liner (as opposed to cruise liner) ever built.
Queen Mary 2's facilities include 15 restaurants and bars, 5 swimming pools, a casino, a ballroom, a theatre and the first planetarium at sea. There are also kennels on board as well as a nursery. Queen Mary 2 is one of the few ships afloat today to have remnants of a class system on board, most prominently seen in her dining options.
While we enjoy the many cruise liners that visit Cobh over the year, this Trans Atlantic Liner holds a special place in our hearts as it reminds us of our strong links with The Titanic, who's 100 Anniversary takes place April 2012.
Queen Mary 2 will sail into Cork Harbour at approx. 7am and will dock next to the Heritage Centre in Cobh. This gives visitors and locals a great opportunity to admire the ship up close. She will set sail to the sounds of Cobh Confraternity Band at 5pm along with waves and cheers from well wishers on the shore.
IF YOU ARE VISITING COBH FOR THE DAY TO SEE THIS MAGNIFICENT OCEAN LINER, THEN BE SURE TO PAY US A VISIT AT THE COMMODORE HOTEL FOR LUNCH, DINNER OR JUST A COFFEE!
